Nena

0

My beloved mother - or as my daughter fondly refers to as Nena, is quite the badass.

A quick Google search on her came up with the following:

Dr. Rosadah Abd Majid is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She teaches special education courses and actively involves in research works and publications. Her special area of interest is in gifted education and the special educational needs among students. She is also actively involved in teaching and learning in higher education. Her work had been presented at various international conferences on the gifted and talented such as; at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. She was one of the administrators in charged of the special gifted school at UKM. Her responsibilities included teacher selection, students’ selection and designing of the curriculum for the school. Dr. Rosadah was a Deputy Director for Curriculum Development and Innovation at The Centre for Academic Advancement, UKM. Her present work involves study on leadership characteristics among UKM students.

Impressive lady.

She did a terrific job juggling her career with her children and looking back at all her accomplishments compared to what I myself am struggling with, sometimes makes me feel ashamed that I dare to complain even one bit.

And so after one of our late night chitchats in the kitchen, I sat down and thought about how it would be a great idea to pool all of my mother's fantastic insights on life etc. and compile it here.

Better yet, have Nena write here well!

It would be the perfect way for us to share mother-daughter experiences and also bounce ideas off each other. And since both of us get precious few opportunities to sit down with each other in between work and other commitments, it would be a great personal space to connect.

Watch out for her entries :)

Love, Mommy MD.
